My condo association’s insurance agent told us that we needed to make sure our pool drain was in compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act or the insurance company might drop us.

We had our pool company check our drain, and they’ve given us an estimate that says we need both a new pool drain cover and something called Vac-Alert. Their estimate is for $860.00 plus tax. Is this a reasonable estimate?

The round hole under the bathtub faucet in the wall sometimes leaks soapy water when I’m showering. It doesn’t leak much, but enough to concern me.

1) What is that hole called–it is covered with a round silver piece. Where does it lead to?
2) Why is the water coming back up through it?
3) Is this a big problem?

Well, my Whirpool Water Heater 9(electric) stopped working a few days ago… no hot water! I have done all the troubleshooting possible but nothing yet. When I purchased my house the water heater was already here but I do not have anytype of receipt of purchase not even the manuals. I do have serial number, etc because they are noted on the unit. Will Whirpool honor the warranty? what will they cover? should I just call somebody else to fix and not worry about the warranty? (I mean if it is going to be a hassle…) Thank you all!

I opened the box under my hood of my 97 Dodge Stratus. It is the box that says “multipoint fuel injection” on top. It is a 2.4 engine. I stupidly sprayed a lot of starter fluid in what I think was the air intake inside, and it blew the top off and broke it. I have had the car repaired with a new fuel pump, and sensors ($1050) and the tech said I must get a new “air box” for it to run corrrectly. Right now he duck taped it and it starts ruf, once it runs a little while it runs fine. He says it is because I need a new “air box” that seals better. I call parts stores and they don’t know what I am talking about. What do you call this?

I just bought a Danby 7,000 BTU portable air conditioner. The manuel says to connect the flexible exhause hose collar to the exhaust opening on the back of the unit. There is no picture of what the exhaust opening looks like. The only openings I see on the back of the unit are the power cord storage and the air filter cover. I tried calling the 800 number for Danby but there is no live person to speak to. PLEASE HELP!!

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima 5sp manual. The fake leather cover that keeps the gear ‘stick’ (for lack of a better word) from being exposed has slowly peeled off after time. I’ve seen this happen to a bunch of other manual cars after some wear and tear. What is that part called and can I find a replacement to buy? Is that even possible or will I have to live with it?

I’m looking for the plastic part between the hood and the windshield. I think it may be called the cowl cover? I have looked online but cant find where to get one. Any ideas about where and how much one would probably cost? Also, does it matter what model year it came from?

it sounds like our drain line for our a/c is clogged. can we call the gas company out for that and have it covered by the service plus plan or who do we call? how do you even get up in the ceiling to drain it? we live in a mobile home and there is no attic opening.
